First details on Top Gun 3 revealed

Joseph Kosinski has spoken with GQ as his new film ‘F1’ has hit the theatres and he has revealed the first plot details and information about the anticipated Top Gun 3. GQ asked “I know you’ve described it as a big idea, and wanting it to feel like a new challenge. How do you go one further than putting actors in Jet Planes” with Jospeh Kosinski finally giving us some details. Kosinski said “It’s a really existential crisis that Maverick has in this, and it’s much bigger than himself.” further adding “Its an existential question that Maverick has to deal with, that would make Maverick feel small.” This is super interesting as in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ we still saw Maverick questioning if he is an old timer or if he is done flying the planes, but now it seems that in the next film he will really be put to the test and put through some hard times. Jospeh Kosinski also confirmed that Ehren Kruger will be writing the script for the next Top Gun film, coming of writing the script for Kosinski’s ‘F1’.

One of the main takeaways was that GQ mentioned how ‘Top Gun Maverick’ felt like a passing of the baton, to actors such as Miles Teller, Glen Powell and all the other amazing ensemble cast, but Kosinski replied “Yeah, there’s still more story to tell for him, There’s one last ride.” Which seemingly implies that this well and truly could be the last Top Gun film we will see. However even this film may potentially be at risk of not being made as Kosinski also confirmed that if the story isn’t strong enough, or if their is no really depth or reason to make it, it won’t get created. It will be hard to top the previous entry, but if Kosinski can find the right angle for the film, im sure it will soar into the air as a fantastic trilogy when all is said and done
