Social Network 2 is OFFICIALLY in the works

The Social Network 2 is now in the works from Sony Pictures. This follows on from ‘The Social Network’ which released in 2011 and starred Jessie Eisenberg as Facebook CEO ‘Mark Zuckerberg’. The details that we know about the sequel comes from deadline. Aaron Sorkin is set to write and also direct the film who also wrote the original film, Sorkin has also directed ‘Molly’s Games’ and ‘being the ricardos’.

It is uncertain that Jesse Eisenberg will return to the sequel as it’s not technically a direct sequel, rather than a follow up by the same creators. The new film will focus on the 2020 election, and how Facebook affects the world to this day and highlights all the harms that it has caused. There is no official production date and Sorkin is set to first find his ensemble and whether Eisenberg will be reprising his role or not, it will be interesting if anyone replaces the Zuckerberg role, or if Jesse has been contacted to come back.
