‘Harold and Kumar’ are set to return in a new sequel film

The Hollywood reporter have reported that ‘Harold and Kumar’ are set to get a sequel film with the creators, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald of ‘Cobra kai’ set to write and direct the new entry. Hurwitz and Schlossberg will direct while all three will write. The film will be developed at Mandate Pictures which is Lionsgate owned. The three men got their start on the original ‘Harold and Kumar’ as they wrote the original and directed ‘Harold and Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay’.

The Original film released in March 2005 which marks 20 years since the film released In theatres. A sequel to this iconic franchise released on May 2008, called ‘Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay’ and finally the last we saw of Harold and Kumar was in November 2011 for ‘A very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas’ marking 14 years since we last saw the comedic duo.

John Cho and Kal Penn are rumoured to return as the leading ‘Harold and Kumar’ but nothing has been confirmed as of this moment. Nothing has been mentioned about Neil Patrick Harris either who also had a key part to the previous films.

The Writers/Directors in a statement provided by The Hollywood Reporter have stated “We’re fired up to bring Harold and Kumar back in a return to the unapologetically R-rated, smoke-filled chaos that started it all.” and “It’s high time they puff and pass their wisdom onto a new generation. Just don’t tell their kids.”
