Information we have learnt from the new ‘The Fantastic Four: First STeps’ Trailer
‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is set to release on July 25th and the latest trailer has just been released. There is plenty of information about the plot and characters already out on the internet because of previous trailers, but with the new trailer being released, we will be coving any new and added pieces of information about what we may have to expect going into Marvels biggest release this year.
The Fantastic Four are well and truly established in this universe already, as we already know this version of the fantastic four will originate from a different side of the multiverse and will somehow make their way into the MCU Universe eventually, but right now we know that its a old fashioned universe with advanced technology. In the new trailer we hear The Thing, Ben Grimm confirm that they are established as he says he only uses the iconic catchphrase “It’s clobbering time” in the comics, meaning that their are pieces of media about them already. Of course we already knew they were famous from the start of this film, due to the Ted Gilbert Show and all the civilians at the start of the original trailers praising the Fantastic Four for their work.
In previous trailers we do see the Fantastic Four getting a lot of praise for their previous work, and Im sure we will see plenty of Villains being taken down before we meet Ralph Ineson’s ‘Galactus’, but the Giant threat in this trailer emphasises that this is nothing like what they have ever faced before. In this new trailer we see what it looks like to be the Fantastic Four Travelling to the origin point of where Galactus comes from, and ultimately they run back to their ship in fear, with Reed begging Ben to get them away from Galactus, as well as Reed carrying a body onto the ship, potentially meaning that they already are sustaining injuries from Marvels biggest villain. With the scared moments that the four will enter when facing Galactus and it’s Herald the Silver Surfer, this casts doubts in Reed’s mind on if they can keep the public safe, which looks like it will cause some discourse between the public and the heroes of their world.
In the rest of the trailer we mainly see shots that have been shown in press releases and other teasers and trailers. The only extra pieces of knowledge that we gain is we see an extra look at what Galactus will look like. We still don’t see a full glance at his full entity, but we get a few shots of the scale of what he is and some really menacing and dark scenes where he is just destroying the city and another just waiting dormant in his resting place.
The final interesting part of this trailer that seems to be really important to this film is that we get a millisecond shot of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower at large, but next to it is a sort of beacon which is shooting a beam into the sky. We are not sure what this fully means and this is one of the only shots that is outside of the USA in this film other than space. This beacon could be different leaders across the world helping the fantastic four in sending Galactus away from earth, as we know he can transform into any size he would like, maybe he scales the whole earth and they need to send multiple beacons to send him away, but this is just speculation and talk at the moment. The only other piece of information I can end this article on is that The Thing, ben Grimm some how has grown a beard at the end of the trailer, when Johnny Storm is flying them through the sky, This was very random, and I would like to know of he has to shave his rocks of his face.
