Robert Eggers set to write and direct new “a christmas carol” film for warner brothers

According to Deadline reports Robert Eggers is set to write and direct a new ‘A Christmas Carol’ movie for Warner Brothers studios. Robert Eggers is coming off from his major success with ‘Nosferatu’ which had a great reception with critics and earned four Oscar nominations. You may also recognised Robert Eggers films such as ‘The Lighthouse’, ‘The Northman’ and ‘The Witch’ in which all have the unique and dark style that Robert Eggers loves. Not only is Robert Eggers set to direct and write this film, but also Willem Defoe is being eyed to star as the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge, but Deadline were quick to add that its only speculation and no negotiations have began just yet. Willem Defoe is prolific for staring in Robert Eggers films as he also featured in ‘Nosferatu’, ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘The Northman’ which are the past three films created by Eggers.

We have seen many interpretations of Charles Dickens book with films based on the muppets and a Jim Carrey Animated film, but im sure we are too expect a more darker and unique style for this new interpretation created by the dark and grim director Robert Eggers.

Robert Eggers has now added the new ‘A Christmas Carol’ film to his collection of upcoming films in his catalogue with a old medieval times Werewolf film in the works called ‘Werewuf’ which will be perfect for Robert Eggers theme and stories that he loves to tell. Not only that but he is also set to direct a sequel to the iconic Jim Henson creation ‘Labyrinth’ which is a very dark film in it self which will be a interesting accomplishment for Eggers to take on, incorporating the fantasy elements to his dark tones.
